I have followed this lady’s journey for over a year now on FB. Our boys were in same class at primary school and they played football together for years while we sat in our camping chairs on the sideline putting the world to right – even missing their goals at times too ha ha!
On Saturday I felt so humble to be part of her wedding day and do her makeup. While i did her nails earlier in the week – she was the one who introduced us to the charity ‘Look Good, Feel Better’ – supporting women with cancer – giving the cancer patients makeovers and pampering. ‘Look Good Feel Better’ is the only international cancer support charity providing practical support for women and teenagers struggling with cancer treatment and the way it changes their bodies. Each woman who comes to the groups is given a makeup bag full of branded cosmetics, all free of charge, which are donated by the companies.
I have always wanted to do something like this and thanks to this amazing lady, this is now possible. Last night we went to Salisbury City Hospital to meet the team and we look forward to working with them and it’s so nice to be able to give something back to others. I would like to share her inspirational story with you all with her blessing – to raise awareness and spread the word to help others if you can.
Claire – you truly are AMAZING! I have so much respect for you and the way you have shared your journey with us. Listening to the ladies last night about how they feel about all the changes to their bodies; hair, brows, Lashes etc – I can now see what you meant by ‘you looking like a clown’ comment once I brought back colour to your brows & me saying how great they looked but you didn’t see the same as me ha ha! Well, last night was definitely an ‘aha’ moment for me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your inspiration to help others ? xxx
